How are Classes Organized?
Classes are broken down into 6 week sessions - 1 hour once per week
Classes are 60 minutes in length
There are Series 1 through to 10 - to move onto the next session, the previous series must be completed first
Series 1-3 = Beginner & Foundational classes / Series 4-7 = Intermediate / Series 8-10 = Advanced

Can I Make up a Missed Class?
Yes, however this is not guaranteed. The class must be in the same series you are currently registered in and there must be space available. You can only make up 2 missed classes per session, within the time period of that session. Any unused class may not be transferred to an upcoming session. Send us an email and we will look into it for you.

When Should I Register For My Class of Choice?
ASAP! Because class space is limited they will fill fast!! We recommend that you register HERE (via. MindBody Connect App) at least 2 weeks prior to the start of a class series &/or by the last class of your current session in order to ensure you will get a spot in the class you want. Late registration in a class may result in the class being cancelled if the class has low enrollment (less then 6 students per class).

Can I Take More Than One Class Per Week?

What Should I Wear?  *Respect you & those around you*
Do not wear any lotions on the day of your pole class and leave your jewelry at home - Lotions will make you and the pole slippery and dangerous. Please remember to take off your jewelry before class, the hard metal will scratch the pole and could damage your jewelry. We are not liable if you lose your belongings while in the studio.
Pole Series 1-2;
Please wear clothing that you are most comfortable in, that is easy to move in (i.e. yoga pants/shorts/tights, tank tops or any fitness top) Kneepads are useful for floor work.
Pole Series 3-10; Shorts/tights and tank/fitness tops are Highly recommended, including sports bras for protection and proper support.
*NOTE* Inversions are taught & necessary in upper levels making loose/flowy clothing hard to manage and keep in the appropriate places for coverage* Upper series classes involve more advanced moves to be performed and therefore require you to stick to the pole and to have the proper amount of skin exposure. In order for skin to grip the pole, pole dancers should have their legs, arms and stomach exposed. Like any other sport, advancement in skill level requires proper attire in order to perform a move safely.

We at PFKingston expect and will enforce a level of professionalism when it comes to behaviour and attire choice, and will not allow a move to be performed if the clothing exposes one to risk, nor will we tolerate clothing that does not cover the appropriate body parts (i.e. no bikin's, booty shorts, string tops, etc).

When participating in pole fitness you are only expected to do what you are comfortable with. Our instructors will provide you with the guidelines and necessary instructions in order to perform and improve within the various levels of activity, these should be followed carefully. It is common for you to get some bruises (aka 'Pole Kisses') early on in pole fitness due to the nature of the moves however, your body eventually adjusts.

Common Pole Misconceptions

Common Pole Misconceptions:
~ Pole is only for Women = False. Many men enjoy, participate & compete in pole competitions all over the world & are well built for mastering the pole thanks to their significant upper body strength.

~ Pole is for those in the adult industry = False. Pole is for everyone, of any age, shape/size & fitness level. MOST pole students are  ordinary people, i.e. teachers, nurses, parents, young & old professionals.

~ You need to be thin, in shape & sexy to participate = False. Pole fitness is for all who want to lose weight, get healthy & have fun! Pole  fitness can be sexy like any other form of dance or fitness, ultimately it is up to the individual and the image they want to portray.  what's more important is knowing your own body & how to utilize the strengths you have.

~ You don't need to have a dance background, rhythm or coordination to do pole. No fitness background required to participate!

* Pole fitness/dance in fact...promotes overall well being through physical exercise & dance, increases confidence, self-esteem, awareness & sensuality*
